Barry’s father dropped out of school to support his family until he came of age to join the military. Twenty years later with a GED, a southern accent, and the ability to create, manage, and lead organizations effectively, he walked directly into the unemployment line. Though it wasn’t long until he was CEO of a financial institution.

Barry’s father’s story, gave him the inspiration to overcome obstacles in his personal life and professional career. Growing up in Turkey and Germany, being the first ever to attend university, and later leading national and international transformations, gives him unique perspectives and capabilities to transform technology organizations.

 

Barry Robbins is a Technology Executive specializing in transformations. He partners with business executives to meet the changing business landscape and transforms technology organizations to deliver business needs. His strengths include combining what a company does well with industry best practices to help technology organizations meet their value proposition. He currently serves as Managing Partner for Silver Bear Solutions while he seeks his next permanent role.

 

Barry developed his skills at IBM where he served internationally in both transformation and turnaround situations. Recruited by Lowe’s Companies to transform an organization, he delivered double-digit million dollar savings and increased availability, while significantly expanding services.  As the IT Chief Operating Officer for the City of Charlotte, he stabilized service delivery, and helped merge the technology delivery organization with the technology policy organization to provide the customer a more seamless experience. Barry was then recruited to create an Enterprise Operations organization to improve resiliency and reduce cost for The Home Depot.

Barry is a Ph.D. Candidate in Business Administration - Information Systems at Kennesaw State University where he studies Fintech and Innovation. Barry earned his Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University, and completed his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Florida State University

Despite leading numerous organization turnarounds and transformations, he is his largest transformation project!
